Sunday’s “Day of Prayer” declared by four Republican governors of Gulf Coast states appears not to have stemmed the gushing of oil from British Petroleum’s damaged Deepwater Horizon offshore well, according to the EPA.
In calling for a Day of Prayer, the GOP governors and national party leaders had hoped to pre-empt a rumored attempt by President Obama to subject God to a “Chicago-style shakedown,” which, if successful, would have given the Democrats momentum heading into fall’s midterm elections.
Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour disputed claims that the Day of Prayer had failed, arguing that as a federal agency, the EPA was under the control of Obama, the known anti-Christ, and thus could not be trusted to report objective data.
Barbour said an environmental team from The 700 Club will soon file its own report from the Gulf.

Honestly, what is this childish crap? From the Orlando Sentinel: A doctor who considers the national health-care overhaul to be bad medicine for the country posted a sign on his office door telling patients who voted for President Barack Obama to seek care “elsewhere.” The sign reads: “If you voted for Obama … seek urologic [...]

During the modern Dark Ages known as the Bush Era, I was highly disciplined about ignoring conservative nonsense in the media. It was, truthfully, a matter of preserving my sanity. I never watched television news or listened to right-wing talk radio, and I rarely visited online news and opinion sites such as The Drudge Report, [...]
Sit down, Texas. I’ll be brief. As you know, President Obama recently appointed me as head of SR (State Relations) for the federal government. As you also know, America has hit some tough times lately. In a nutshell, we’re losing money and have to look for areas to cut costs and increase efficiency. The bottom [...]

The conservative columnist longs for the day when manly men inhabited the White House… Will’s “final thought” on Obama speech and aftermath: “I don’t know when men started to hug each other, but hug they do, and look at that.” Indeed, who can deny him his point? They don’t make presidents like they used to.

From the New York Times: For his initial annual budget, President Obama has banned four accounting gimmicks that President George W. Bush used to make deficit projections look smaller. The price of more honest bookkeeping: A budget that is $2.7 trillion deeper in the red over the next decade than it would otherwise appear, according [...]
